 Bachelors MastersGIS Certification
Welcome to UTSA's College of Sciences geology program.  We offer the following degree programs:  B.A., B.S. and the M.S. in Geology with emphasis in water resources (hydrogeology), environmental geology, isotope geochemistry, and applied geology., minor in Geology; B.S. in Multidisciplinary Sciences; Geographical Information Science Certification.

The Earth is a planet limited in size and resources. Geology is the science which examines the planet Earth, its composition, history, and structure.  In this exciting field of study, geologists integrate biology, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, and physics.  Geoscientists include geochemists, oceanographers, hydrologists, petroleum geologists, mining geologists, geologic engineers, and many other specific areas of study.

Geological interest of San Antonio and Texas:  The present site of San Antonio was once situated on the shores of a tropical sea, an area frequented by dinosaurs.  Portions of Texas were formed by a collision with Africa.  And a major fault zone trends through the UTSA area.
