The university has developed specific guidelines regarding food and beverage distribution during events. This policy is to ensure the safety of food on the Main Campus, and that proper disposal of charcoal from grilling complies with fire prevention guidelines from the Office of Environmental Health, Safety and Risk Management so as to prevent a fire.
Only charcoal grilling is allowed on campus. Groups that wish to grill must make proper accommodations for a sand trap and other required safety items through Facilities Services (see "Grilling") at least two (2) weeks in advance.
Any food prepared during a tailgate party can only be distributed to the group's friends and family. Tailgating groups must also make proper accommodations for a sand trap through Facilities Services (see "Grilling").
