UTSA Student Union Policies

2.4 - Damages:

Rationale:
As an auxiliary enterprise, the UTSA Student Union (UTSA Student Union ) is responsible for maintaining the operation, cleanliness and upkeep of the facility.  Students are assessed a UTSA Student Union fee that is used to care for these basic needs.  This fee is not sufficient to cover damages caused by clients during the course of events.  Clients of the UTSA Student Union are expected to treat the facility in a responsible manner and avoid any damage to the building.

Policy:
The UTSA Student Union holds all clients responsible for any damages incurred to the facility during the course of an event. Pre-event and post-event inspections are held to determine the condition of the facility, confirm any damages and identify the responsible party.

Damage to the facility, furnishings or other equipment, whether accidental or intentional, will not be tolerated and will result in related charges to return the facility or damaged item to its original condition. The amount billed to the client will be based upon the labor rates in the UTSA Student Union Resource, Labor and Facility Fee Schedule and the final amount charged to the UTSA Student Union by UTSA Facilities Services or contractor completing the repair.
