Faculty Awards

UTSA faculty play a leading role in the university’s mission to advance knowledge through research and discovery, teaching and learning, service and community engagement. Recognizing and celebrating the achievements of faculty who have excelled in teaching, research or service is an important step in the journey to become a premier research university.

UTSA promotes faculty through a number of faculty awards, which are administered both within the university and through external organizations.

This website contains information - including overviews, timelines and criteria - for awards that are open to faculty in all areas of the university. For information on other awards specific to particular fields, please refer to the appropriate college or department.

Recipients of the 2022-2023 President's Distinguished Achievement Awards, Howe Teaching Award, and President's Distinguished Diversity Award have been announced! Congratulations to all nominees for your outstanding work.
