If you are enrolled in a combination of terms that meet for at least 10 weeks total, your grants will be disbursed in 2 disbursements. If you are enrolled at least 1/2 time (6 hours undergraduate, 3 hours graduate) in 1 short summer term (4 or 5 weeks) you will have 1 disbursement date for the summer. The dates are as follows:

Mini-Semester (M): May 9
Summer I & 10 Week (F, J, T): May 26
Summer II (S, L): July 3

Students must make Satisfactory Academic Progress to be eligible for summer aid. Please see our Pell page and Satisfactory Academic Progress page for recent changes to these programs that may affect your summer aid. If you have specific questions, you may contact our office and we're happy to help.

2012-2013 Awarding Update

Awarding of first-time freshman, first-time Graduate students and transfer students began in April.

Awarding of all returning UTSA students, and any students readmitted to UTSA will begin in June. Due to recent regulatory changes related to the calculation of Satisfactoary Academic Progress (SAP), we will review spring grades and confirm continued eligibility for financial aid before awarding. Additional emphasis at the federal level has placed stricter stipulation on SAP. All students must realize that passing classes in a timely manner, with a minimum GPA is necessary for continued funding. For more information, visit our Satisfactory Academic Progress page.

Pell Grant Changes

There have been recent legislative changes made to Pell concerning repeated coursework, students who have completed degree requirements without officially graduating, and Pell for the summer that may affect you. Please visit our Pell page for details regarding these new changes.

Academic Requirements To Keep Your Aid

Do you know what's expected of you academically to continue to be eligible to receive financial aid? Academic eligibility for aid is reviewed at the end of the Spring semester each year and students who do not meet the requirements will not be eligible for financial aid for the Summer semester. For further information please visit our Satisfactory Academic Progress page.
