UT Online Consortium

The UT Online Consortium (UTOC) is the centralized support center for online education throughout The University of Texas System.  UTOC contains online classrooms, a digital library, free online tutorial services, links to various admissions and registrar offices throughout the UT System and full program descriptions for the online courses and degrees the UTOC facilitates. Designated contacts at each campus (UTSA academic advisors) and student services support staff of the UTOC are available to assist students. For more information see

Can I receive Financial Aid at UTSA if enrolled in courses through the UT Online Consortium?

Yes, students enrolled in courses through the UT Online Consortium may receive financial aid at UTSA as long as UTSA is their home school.

Note: Students can only receive financial aid at one school per term.

How do I get awarded and receive Financial Aid when enrolled in a UT Online Consortium?

Submit your FAFSA and have it sent to UTSA (School code: 010115). Typically, the UT Online Consortium will notify us of hours taken at other schools. The financial aid process for UT Online Consortium students does not differ from those students enrolled for on campus courses here at UTSA.

Will UTSA use my Financial Aid to pay for my UT Online Consortium courses at the other institutions?

No, students are responsible for either making payment arrangements or paying the tuition and fees at the other institutions.  Each campus on the UT System will directly bill the students for the courses in which they are enrolled.

After the Financial Aid pays the tuition and fees for the on campus courses, UTSA will disburse the remaining Financial Aid directly to the student.  Students should use their refunds to pay for their UTOC courses.  Specific information about costs for academic courses can be found on the campus’s web site.

Note:  UTSA DOES NOT pay the other schools for the students.
