the implementation of credit card payments on ASAP, UTSA’s cost of providing
this
service has grown to over $500,000 annually.
As authorized by Section 54.5011 of the Texas
Education Code, students
currently incur the credit or debit card convenience fees.
The following policies effect only credit card charges processed by the university:
As of September 11, 2004, UTSA Fiscal Services no longer accepted Visa branded debit, credit, or check cards for student payments due to conflicts between the VISA agreement and provisions of state law.
Effective November 7, 2005, credit card payments will no longer be accepted at any Fiscal Services office for student payments. Discover or MasterCard will continue to be accepted at the university only online or by phone (convenience fee will be assessed).
