| Graduate School Strategic Plan 2016. Several academic colleges have extended their deadlines for Spring 2009 including: College of Engineering- Domestic Deadline Extended to December 12th- All supplemental documents must be turned in by this date. UTSA is the second-largest institution in the University of Texas System and has been one of the state’s fastest-growing public universities for the last decade. The UTSA Graduate School currently offers 21 doctoral degrees and 46 masters programs. Feel free to request more information on any of these programs or apply now. MISSION STATEMENT The Graduate School promotes and supports academic excellence in the graduate education provided at UTSA and success for the diverse population of students who enter those programs. The Graduate School communicates the benefits of a graduate education within and beyond the UTSA community. It fosters collaborations to ensure that high academic standards are maintained, that diversity across graduate programs and graduate students is valued and respected, that policies and procedures related to graduate education are fair and consistent, and that providing graduate education and serving graduate students are an integral part of the university mission. The university’s three campuses provide access and opportunity for large numbers of historically underserved students. More than 57 percent of UTSA’s students come from groups underrepresented in higher education. Many students are the first in their families to attend a college or university. Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education recently ranked UTSA 10th in the nation in awarding master’s degrees to Hispanic students.
