Health Education and Promotion
SHADES: Sexual Health Alcohol and Drug Education for Students is a grant funded program developed to educate UTSA students on HIV/AIDS, the prevention of STD’s and alcohol/drug abuse. The SHADES peer educators can discuss these topics in your classroom, student organization or meeting. Special outreach projects will be National Hispanic AIDS Day (October 15), National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week and World AIDS Day.
SHAC: Student Health Advisory Council is a bi-monthly meeting with students interested in changing/improving the health/medical climate at UTSA. Students provide feedback to director about medical needs on campus and outreach to students about programming and services.
