We hope you and your family will be a part of the 2nd Annual Roadrunners Give Back service project during Homecoming week. This will be a chance for alumni and families to interact with current students while serving the community.
Participants should meet on site 15 minutes before the event (at 12:45pm) and will be expected to participate for the entire project.
What will we do? We will be working with Green Spaces Alliance of South Texas, a community agency dedicated to sustaining our natural environment and enhancing urban spaces through land conservation, community engagement, and education. The activities may include some bed construction/placement and filling with soil, some work on the soon-to-be water catchment pavilion, starting the fence installation, general garden maintenance, and possibly some irrigation installation. No experience is necessary for the volunteers to participate. All supplies, gloves, and tools will be provided for the projects.
What are the age requirements? 8-17 with parent/guardian and a completed waiver; otherwise 18+
What should I wear? Close-toed shoes, jeans or pants you wouldn’t mind getting dirty, and a UTSA t-shirt (all volunteers will receive a UTSA Volunteers t-shirt on the project day!). Sunglasses, hats, water bottles are recommended as well.
