Undergraduate Research and the Honors Thesis

Members of the Honors College are encouraged to participate in undergraduate research, and undergraduate research    (or creative activity) is required for students who wish to graduate with Tier 2 (highest) Honors from the Honors College.

 

HON 4913, Honors Independent Study

HON 4913 is an independent-study course option offered through the Honors College. Students may enroll in HON 4913 with any UTSA tenured or tenure-track instructor and earn Honors credit for participation in research. Students who wish to enroll in HON 4913 with an instructor who is not a tenured or tenure-track faculty member must seek permission from the Associate Dean of the Honors College.

 

Honors Thesis

All students who wish to graduate with Tier 2 Honors must complete an Honors thesis. More information on the Honors Thesis is available from the Office of the Honors College or by downloading the Honors thesis Handbook.
