ADMINISTRATIVE MEMORANDUM NO. 6.4

SUBJECT:   Institutional Memberships

In accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Regents (Part Two, Chapter 111, Section 8) initial requests for membership must be submitted to the Vice President for Business Affairs for approval. The Request for Membership Fee Approval form should be completed, along with a Purchase Request, and submitted to the Vice President for Business Affairs via the Office of the Business Manager.

Requests to continue a membership beyond the initial year may be handled by submitting a Purchase Request to the Office of the Business Manager annually.

General funds (state appropriated funds) of The University of Texas at San Antonio may be used to pay only institutional membership fees in educational, scientific, or other appropriate associations beneficial to the University. Institutional memberships may not be held in the name of an individual.

Copies of the Request for Membership Fee Approval form may be obtained from the Business Manager's office. All copies of the form must be submitted for approval along with the Purchase Request after the appropriate dean or department head has approved the request.
