Day O.N.E. @ UTSA - Administrator Guide
New Benefits Eligible Employees
Human Resources hosts Day O.N.E. @ UTSA, (Orientation for New Employees), for all benefits eligible employees. During the program employees will become acquainted with the University and are provided information about policies, resources, and benefits.
Please note: A Criminal Background Check (CBC) is required before an individual can start work. Go to the UTSA CBC web page for instructions on the CBC process.
All Staff positions are posted in STARS. Once the hiring proposal is approved, an email will be sent with instructions and a link to complete the Day O.N.E. Hiring form. Use the form to enter your new hire information and select the day they will attend orientation. The Day ONE team will send the new hire an offer letter and an orientation information packet for new employees.
Benefits Eligible Student
Benefits eligible student titles include Teaching Assistant (TA), Graduate Research Assistant (GRA), and Graduate Assistant (GA) positions. To hire these student, the department will use the Interim Workflow Solutions and submit a SharePoint form. This form is used to enter the new hire information into PeopleSoft, so all fields must be completed. The submitter will receive email notification once the form has been approved. The email will explain the next steps the new hire should complete. The student will also be invited to a Day O.N.E. session to review benefits information. Tenure and Tenure Track Faculty:
All Tenure/Tenure Track Faculty positions are posted in STARS. The Tenure/Tenure Track Orientation is coordinated by the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic and Faculty Support. Orientation is typically held in the month of August.
Non-Tenure Track Faculty:
All NTT Faculty positions are posted in STARS. To hire a NTT faculty member, the department will use the Interim Workflow Solutions and submit a SharePoint form. This form is used to enter the new hire information into PeopleSoft, so all fields must be completed. All hires must be approved by the appropriate Dean’s Office and the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic and Faculty Support.
