STARS Hiring ManagerJob Offer Process |
Hiring Proposal (HP) Approved
Once HR Compensation approves the HP, the hiring manager for that requisition will receive an email advising them that they can proceed with making the job offer. Please access the notes/history section of the requisition for the salary recommendation approved by compensation.
The job offer is then made and depending on the situation, follow one of the steps below:
Step 1
If a period of time will elapse between the time the job offer is made and the applicant's decision, change the applicant's status to OFFERED JOB. Once the applicant decides take the following action:
Step 2
If immediate confirmation is obtained from the applicant you can forego changing the applicant status to OFFERED JOB and proceed to either the Job Offer Accepted Route or Job Offer Declined Route.
Job Offer Accepted Route Change the applicant's status to HIRED. Change the applicant's status for all the other applicants to NOT HIRED, if that has not already been done. At this point, the status for all the other applicants should be NOT HIRED. The final action, requires the completion of the Final Hire Info Tab. Enter the start date and starting salary, scroll down to the bottom of that page and click on VIEW REQUISITION SUMMARY and click on FILL, CONTINUE AND CONFIRM. The process is now complete. |
Job Offer Declined Route Change the applicant status of the finalist who declined to ‘Declined Offer'. If you previously identified alternate finalists, and you want to offer the job to one of the alternate finalists, create a Hiring Proposal (HP) for that finalist and follow the same steps you used for the original finalist (Review Criminal Background Check info, create HP, submit HP thru department management for approval and make job offer when HP is approved). If you haven't identified another qualified finalist, a number of options are available, e.g. re-post, cancel, etc. but contact HR Employment for guidance. |
