Subject: Human Resource Management System (HRMS)


In an effort to streamline and simplify workforce and business administration processes across campus,  major changes are being made to DEFINE. The project associated with this effort is called Human Resource Management System (HRMS),  formerly known as Position Management.

Many processes which are currently performed in  *DEFINE today will be transferred to a more user-friendly HRMS system.  Phase One of HRMS is to be implemented November 1, 2008 and it will directly affect employees working with HR, budget and payroll processes for Administrative and Professional (A&P) and Classified employees. The purpose of this email is to create an awareness of the project and set the expectations for the future communication process.  You should begin receiving monthly updates later this month and as the project gets closer to the implementation date of November 1, 2008, more frequent updates may occur. 
Please insure that you review these emails as they will contain:

  • Description of HRMS functionality to be included in Phase One
  • News about the HRMS project’s progress and upcoming tasks
  • Information on training
  • Required tasks to ensure a smooth transition to HRMS
