| Course Description | This is an introductory course in ergonomics. Students will learn the interaction between human beings, the objects they use and the environment in which they function. This course covers recognition of ergonomic signs/symptoms, ergonomic risk factors, pros/cons of engineering versus administrative controls, medical management, and workstation layout and design principles. This course will provide an overview of key components of an effective ergonomic process and steps for implementation. It also reviews management support in the success of site ergonomic initiatives. Students will learn how to obtain an Ergonomic Evaluation through the Environmental Health Safety and Risk Management Office at UTSA. | |
