Employment After Retirement |

This page is provided as a source of information concerning retirement benefits. All of the information has been reviewed for accuracy; however, policies and laws change. Therefore, should any part of this information conflict with any policy or law, the actual policy or law shall govern.
Must have at least one month and one day break in service/employment before returning to work. If the employee is in an academic position, please refer to the TRS Benefits Handbook [PDF], pg. 40.
Must sign the Declaration of Retirement form in order to receive a terminating vesting letter. This form is provided to the ORP vendor and will facilitate fund withdrawals from your ORP account.
If you wish to have your sick leave hours restored and receive a lump sum payment for any unused vacation hours/balance you must have a break in service/employment for at least 30 days or one full calendar month. If you have a break in service less than 30 days, you will have your vacation hours/balance transferred to your part time position, but you will forfeit your sick leave hours/balance.
If you are rehired in a part time position, less than 50% time and/or appointed less than 4.5 months, you are not eligible for: Should you have any questions please contact benefits@utsa.edu.
