Summary
|
· Function: To provide supervision and highly skilled technical work within
an animal resource facility. · Scope: Responsible for achieving and maintaining the highest quality
of animal care. |
Duties
|
· Typical: 1. Provide front-line supervision of laboratory
animal care personnel; including scheduling and reviewing work assignments
and training in animal care, facility, and safety procedures. 2. Assist researchers as needed with specialized
procedures with research animals. 3. Oversee the completion
of animal care and husbandry assignments in compliance with federal
regulations as directed by the attending veterinarian or facility manager. 4. May perform
responsibilities of subordinates, including animal care. 5. Responsible for maintaining
equipment, preparation of reports, and maintaining inventory as assigned by
the facility manager. 6. Familiarity with federal
laws and policies governing the care and use of laboratory animals. · Periodic: 1. Additional duties as
assigned by the supervisor. |
