Summary
|
· Function: To provide advanced technical support and assistance in the
performance of animal laboratory procedures. · Scope: Responsible for providing competence in the performance of
technical duties for optimum animal care within the facility. |
Duties
|
· Typical: 1. Provide daily husbandry of laboratory animals to
include observation of animals, handling and restraint, feeding and watering,
changing cages/racks, and sanitizing animal quarters and equipment in
compliance with Federal regulations. 2. Operates and/or uses supplies and equipment
necessary to perform the husbandry duties. 3. Provide daily record keeping for animals,
inventories, and room environments. 4. Train entry and mid-level technicians (senior
technicians). 5. Assist researchers and veterinary staff. 6. Perform other duties as
assigned. · Periodic: 1. Conduct inventories. 2. Sterilize instruments. 3. Conducts sterility
checks on autoclaves and assists in routine maintenance of equipment. |
