Summary
|
· Function: To assist the
Superintendent of Construction and Maintenance with a large volume of routine
decisions and supervisory duties · Scope: Responsible for assisting the work of the
Department of Construction and Maintenance of the Physical Plant, and for
directing the work of the architectural office providing architectural
services on remodeling and repair projects. |
Duties
|
· Typical: 1. Exercises general supervision and direction of all phases of operation and maintenance of the units as directed. 2. Assists in the supervision and preparation of designs and plans prepared by the staff. Plots survey notes, drafts detailed sketches and complete architectural plans. Writes and checks specifications. 3. Prepares cost estimates. Advises on probable costs and feasibility of proposed projects. 4. Inspects structures and makes recommendations for future maintenance and remodeling. Inspects and makes recommendations concerning construction work under contract. 5.
Supervises and coordinates the repair and alteration
of existing structures. Prepares maintenance schedules. 6. Perform other duties as assigned. · Periodic: 1.
Assists in preparing long range estimates on remodeling and maintenance
needs. 2.
Confer with faculty and staff regarding remodeling. 3.
Assists in preparing departmental budget. 4.
Interviews and recommends new employees and authorizes and approves
requisitions, payrolls and estimates. |
