SD0308 - Diversity Awareness: M.E.E.T. on Common Ground |
| Course Description | This class will provide participants the opportunity to explore diversity and cultural awareness at UTSA. The class will utilize a four-step model for promoting communication, understanding, and respect called M.E.E.T. on Common Ground. M=Make time to discuss, E=Explore differences, E=Encourage respect, T=Take personal responsibility. The class includes a dynamic audiovisual with an emphasis on class discussion and time to practice the M.E.E.T. model. Practical examples and advice for resolving difficult situations will be included. Resources on diversity and equity at UTSA and in San Antonio will be provided. This class is designed for any and all staff and faculty at UTSA. |

Participants will learn a four step process for promoting cultural sensitivity in the workplace, practice implementing this four-step process, Learn where to access diversity resources at UTSA and in the community. |
