Project Title: Development of Water Resources in Honduras

Project Summary:
Faculty and students from UTSA led efforts to drill and develop ground-water wells
for drinking water supply in Honduran communities. Six wells have been drilled and supply
drinking water to over 200 people. Twenty-five additional wells are planned for neighboring
communities.

Project Title: Hydrogeological potential of the Fissured and Karst Aquifers of the North-Central of Bahia State, Brazil
Project Directors: Alan Dutton (UTSA)
Project Summary:
Under this research program students from Universidade Federal da Bahia are visiting UTSA to
study the local Edwards Aquifer and regulatory practices, while simultaneously analyzing data from karst aquifers in
Brazil and developing an improved regulatory framework for Brazil's ground-water resources.
