Telephone Services to Replace Audix Voicemail System
On Sunday, February 3, 2008, UTSA Telephone Services will be replacing the current Avaya Audix system with the Cisco Unity voicemail system.
This change is necessary because Avaya has announced the “end of life” for this product.

New Voicemail Setup Procedure
Please make every effort to retrieve your messages from your Audix voicemail account by Feb. 3, 2008.
Please note that existing Audix messages will be deleted on February 10, 2008. From February 3rd – February 10th, you may dial extension 6811 to retrieve new and saved Audix messages.
Although the new system is similar in function to the Audix system, you will need to follow these instructions to set up your new voicemail account. You will be prompted to record your name, a personal greeting and to change the default password.
You will need a default PIN that will be sent to you via e-mail and through a telephone broadcast message on January 25th, 2008.
- Dial 4977 to access the new voicemail system.
- When prompted, enter your PIN.
- Hit the # key
Recording Your Name
(To exit the system at any time, press the * button.)
- To record your name, press 1
- At the tone, say your first and last name.
- When done, press #
- Your newly recorded name will be played back.
- Press # to keep, or 1 to re-record.
Recording a Personal Greeting
The standard greeting is “Sorry, extension <xxxx> / <username> is not available.
- To keep this default greeting, press #
- To record a new standard greeting, press 1
- At the tone, record your new greeting.
- When done, press #
- Your newly recorded greeting will be played back.
- Press # to keep, or 1 to re-record.
Changing Your Password
- Enter your new password (must be at least 5 digits).
- Press # when done.
- Re-enter your new password to confirm, then press #
