Welcome to the UTSA Wireless Network
Instructions for enabling
SSL 3.0 and SSL 2.0 in common web browsers
UTSA Air Rowdy Wireless service supports SSL
3.0 and SSL 2.0 connections. Below you will find instructions on how to
enable SSL 3.0 and SSL 2.0 in Internet Explorer, Opera, mozilla, and Firefox.
To enable SSL 3.0/SSL 2.0 in Internet
Explorer 5.5 and above
- In Internet Explorer, go to Tools -> Internet
Options.
- Click on the Advanced tab and scroll to the
bottom of the screen.
- Place a checkmark in the box next to:
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.
To enable SSL 3.0/SSL 2.0
in Opera 8.x and above
- From Tools select Preferences
- Select the Advanced tab
- From the left hand side menu select Security,
and click on 'Security Protocols'
- Ensure 'Enable SSL 2' and 'Enable SSL 3' are ticked
- Click OK
- Click OK again
To enable SSL 3.0/SSL 2.0
in Firefox 1.0.x and above
- From Tools select Options
- Select the Advanced icon
- For each of the options under Encryption ensure 'Use SSL 2.0' and 'Use SSL 3.0' are ticked
- Click OK
To enable SSL 3.0/SSL 2.0
in Mozilla 1.7.x and above
- From Edit select Preferences
- From the left hand side menu click on + to open Privacy and Security
- Under SSL, ensure 'Enable SSL version 2' and 'Enable
SSL version 3' are ticked
- Click OK

- Mac users should not experience any
difficulties when connecting; if using one of the previously
mentioned browsers in a Mac environment instructions are the same.

- UTSA Air Rowdy Wireless service now supports both
SSL2 and SSL3 encryption standards.
- Internet Explorer 7 is now supported on UTSA Air
Rowdy Wireless Service. Most other browsers including Firefox,
Opera, Safari and Camino are also supported.
- Compaq Ipaq must, at a minimum, be running software Pocket PC 4.20.1081
Build 13100 in order to connect to AirRowdy.

Use of the campus wireless network is governed by the UTSA computer usage policy. By connecting to
this network you agree to abide by university policies regarding
