Web Standards

The University of Texas at San Antonio believes that the Web should be available to all users. In an effort to support this initiative, the UTSA.edu home and secondary pages have been designed using technologies that support this cause.

Upgrade Your Web Browser

If you followed the "Web standards" link from the top of one of our Webpages, your browser does not likely support enhanced visual technologies. If you are using a computer (excluding PDAs, Mobile Phones, and other internet devices), and would like to see our site using enhanced visual technologies, we encourage you to upgrade your browser to one of the following:

Accessibility

To People

UTSA's approach to Web development allows for users with disabilities and those using non-standard browsers (mobile phones, pdas, teletext displays, etc.) access to information that otherwise would have been difficult or impossible to attain.

To Search Engines and Indexing Services

The Web is becoming a living archive of human knowledge. Accessible Web sites greatly improve the index-factor with search engines and indexing services, allowing UTSA to better contribute.

UTSA Saves Money

Using technologies such as CSS and XHTML, UTSA Web developers can reduce the cost and complexity of development while increasing the accessibility and long-term viability of our Web sites.
