Early College High School (ECHS)
Through a partnership between The Communities Foundation of Texas, The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at San Antonio, East Central ISD, Southside ISD and Southwest ISD, an Early College High School Initiative was created. The first cohort of students started during the 2004-2005 academic year. A second cohort of eighth grade students was selected in the Spring of 2005 to begin preparation for the Summer Academy program scheduled for June 2005 continuing their course of study during the 2005-2006 school tear. The third cohort will be selected in the Spring of 2006 to begin preparation for the Summer Academy program scheduled for June 2006. The students in this third cohort will begin their high school academic studies during the 2006-2007 school year.
