West Texas Field Trip, Summer 2007

Dr. Lance Lambert in the Dept. of Earth and Environmental Science at UTSA led the 6 days field trip to West Texas and South New Mexico. It was such a great experience for all of students (7 students attended). Dr. Xie was one of the drivers for the trip.

West Texas Field Trip, Summer 2006

West Texas and southern New Mexico are desert areas featuring extensive and noteworthy geologic outcrops and exposures including ancient and recent volcanics, rift valley faulting, mineralization, karst, and evaporated basins.  This is one of the best places in the world for studying geology and applying geological remote sensing techniques. Dr. Lance Lambert in the Dept. of Earth and Environmental Science at UTSA will lead the 10 days field trip. Addition to the 10 MORE science students, 8 geology majors will join the field trip. Dr. Xie will be in the first part of the trip and Dr. Ponomarenko will join the last part of the trip.
