Jr/Sr level MBRS-RISE students participate in diverse activities,
designed to assist them towards successful careers in the research
sciences. Two formalized courses that students take are Research
Careers in Sciences and the RISE/MARC Colloquium. Both of these
courses will be instructed as special topics courses in the individual
students' majors.
Research
Careers: Bio 4953 Special Topics. A review of Ph.D.
associated career paths, research ethics, and assistance in applying for
doctoral training (personal statement creation, practice interviews,
etc).
MBRS-RISE
Colloquium - Associated with the RISE/MARC Seminar Series, this course
guides students through basic research related skills, including CV
creation, reading scientific papers, abstract creation, Understanding
Your Research Project, Critical thinking, Pubmed and Endnote use.
