The Learning Studio

 

The Learning Studio is a place where faculty, staff and students can collaborate together effortlessly. The room has technology to make videos, video conferencing, and teaching easy.

Learning Studio Information:

 

  • Available for use by UTSA faculty, students, and staff
  • Capacity: 35
  • Converted to Active Learning Space in 2016
  • Mobile collaborative style furniture throughout lab

Hours of Operation:

 

Monday - Thursday: 7:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
 

 

How to request room:

 

Please submit an email to OITConnect@utsa.edu with at least 5 business days notice.Include information about:

  • Title of event
  • Date
  • Start and end time
  • Audience: student, faculty, or staff
  • Brief description of learning session
  • Additional tech resources needed

  • Teaching Lectern Control System: Extron IN1608, built in amplifier & program audio; Dedicated PC - Windows 10 & Office 2016; Dedicated Mac OS 10 computer
  • Wireless Presentation Mouse
  • Mobile Podium with chargeable battery power for wireless presentation from a laptop, tablet or phone  
  • Auxiliary Inputs (HDMI, Composite, VGA)
  • Dual mirrored projector screens
  • Document Camera
  • 43” HD monitors w/ Solstice Pod (collaboration gateway), Windows 10 PC, USB web cam, & USB ports (x2 stations)
  • 30 laptops with Windows 10 & Office 2016
  • Magnetic Glass Marker boards
  • 65” Interactive Touch Screen LED Display

 

House Rules:

 

  • The room will be reserved 30 minutes before and after your learning session to allow time for setup and changes for the next session
  • Clean up after your session: erase writing surfaces, make sure any trash made by your session is picked up, etc.
  • Food is permitted with guidelines that will be provided at reservation request.
