Which one-time password generator keychain fobs can I use ?

OIT is currently testing various One-Time Password (OTP) keychain fobs to determine which devices will be fully supported. OIT will update this page as soon as we have results from our testing. OTP keychain fobs are small devices that have a window with a readout of 6 or 8 numbers and a button that, when pressed, displays a one-time password. Duo Security fully supports OTP keychain fobs that conform to the Open Authentication HMAC-based One-time Password (OATH HOTP) standard. In our testing we have found that some devices are available online that claim to support the standard but are not configurable to work with myUTSA ID+ at all.

How do I start using a hardware token?

After purchasing a hardware token, you will need to bring it to the OIT Support Services window on the second floor of the Bosque Street building on the main 1604 campus, or to the downtown campus support desk.  An OITSS staff member will configure it to work with your myUTSA ID+ account.

Departments may wish to purchase tokens in bulk and have them added to myUTSA ID+ on behalf of their users. For assistance with this, please contact OITConnect at 210-458-5555 or oitconnect@utsa.edu for more information.
