Where can I use my print allocation? (back to top)
There are a number of campus-wide printers in various remote locations called Print Spots. To use the Print Spot printers, you will need to have sent your print job to the Print Spot queue.
You can also print to printers at these Student Computing Labs: Business Building Lab, Multidisciplinary Studies Lab and the Frio Street Lab. The Library Information Commons (in the JPL), the downtown Library and participating college labs around campus also have available printers.
Note: The Multidisciplinary Studies Lab is not using the new Print Spot printing system. If you are using a laptop to send your print job, update your printing software at the How to Print page and release your print job at any of the Print Spot locations.

Duplex can be printed from anywhere. Color printing can only be done at any of the Student Computing Labs or at one of the five (5) specified Print Spot color printers that are in remote locations both the Main and Downtown campus. Refer to the map legend for locations.
Do I need to make a reservation to print in color? (back to top)
No. Printing is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Can I bring my own paper to the labs or the Library? (back to top)
No. Outside supplies are not allowed in the labs, Library Information Commons nor at the public printers.
How do I pay for printing? (back to top)
Once the 200 page allocation is depleted, students may use their UTSACard by applying money to it at the Cash Value machines or they can purchase a "guest card" at the cash value machine.
Cash Value machines are located in the student computing labs (Business Building Lab 2nd floor, Multidisciplinary Science Lab ground floor and the Frio Street Lab 2nd floor) and at various locations throughout campus. The value machines accept cash only.
Credit cards may be used to add money to the UTSACard at any Fiscal Services location or via ASAP. When the UTSACard is swiped at the printer, the funds are deducted in accordance with the price of the particular print job.
How can I keep track of the number of pages I print? (back to top)
Before you print, a pop-up window will display your account balance information and how much the print job will cost. You will have the option to release the print job or not.
Do I need my UTSACard to print? (back to top)
Most printers now have Card-Swipe capabilities for your UTSACard ; however, if you do not have your UTSACard with you, they are also equipped with keypad access as an additional option to login with your myUTSA ID (abc123) and password.
We encourage you to keep your UTSACard with you at all times.
What if I am not a student? (back to top)
Only faculty and staff that are registered students can use the UTSACard or purchase a Guest Card. Faculty, staff, and non-registered students or guests must purchase a Guest Card.
UTSA administrative offices and academic departments may purchase Guest Cards for use by faculty, graduate assistants and staff for printing.
Visitors in the Library who wish to print may purchase a Guest Card from the card station located at the library after obtaining login access from the Information Desk.
Who can assist me? (back to top)
Staff will be available in the Library Information Commons and student computing labs to answer questions and assist with any printing problems.
If in a remote location, contact the Print Manager at (210) 458-7699 or the Business Building Computer Lab at (210) 458-7646 at the Main Campus.
