AirRowdy Certificate Errors

Users logging into AirRowdy may see a certificate authentication error page depending on the Web browser they use. This error is occurring because we are encountering a problem updating a file in AirRowdy.  However, AirRowdy remains safe to use.

If you see this error, please follow these instructions to install AirRowdy's latest authentication certificate.

Once the certificate is installed, AirRowdy should function normally with no certificate authentication errors.

About AirRowdy

To ensure connectivity, your laptop must be equipped with a wireless network card that is 802.11b or 802.11g (Wi-Fi) compliant.  Most newer laptops have this functionality already built in. A Web browser which supports SSL and Javascript is also required.  No configuration changes are necessary once your wireless card is installed and functioning correctly. All Web traffic (HTTP, HTTPS, etc.) is allowed on the wireless network.

As a general rule, traffic on wireless networks, including AirRowdy, is not encrypted. This means that there is a risk of having your session "sniffed" during transmission.  If you plan on entering sensitive information (passwords, credit card numbers) on a Web site, ensure that the site is SSL-encrypted - the URL should start with https (not http)  and you should see a "lock" icon SSL Lock Icon in your browser's status bar.

Faculty and staff members needing access to sensitive resources via the UTSA administrative network will need to install and use the VPN client.
