meet the orientation leaders
The role of OL is multifaceted. The OLs work both independently and as a team when working with new students, family members, and the orientation team. For example, OLs work together to meet, greet, and check-in orientation participants. They are also responsible for guiding a group of orientation participants through a program. This includes facilitating some sessions on their own, such as University 101, and making sure the students or family members are directed to an appropriate presentation(s). All OLs conduct Downtown and 1604 campus tours. OLs participate in a course and training to understand the orientation programs and be knowledgeable about UTSA. They must be creative and "think on their feet" as they will encounter a variety of situations. Through this work, the OLs interact with many UTSA constituencies-including student coordinators, campus department and advising center staff members and directors, and faculty.
