downtown campus - roadrunner roundup

Roadrunner Roundup at the Downtown Campus is a two day program designed to meet the needs of freshmen and freshman transfers who will take the majority of their classes at the Downtown Campus or have declared a major in the College of Architecture or College of Public Policy. In order to register for classes, all freshmen and freshman Transfer students are required to attend every program session during Roadrunner Roundup.

Please be aware that all Texas Success Initiative related testing, including the THEA, must be completed PRIOR to arriving on campus for your Roadrunner Roundup Orientation program. If you are not sure of your TSI status, please contact Testing Services at (210) 458-4125 BEFORE making your Roadrunner Roundup reservation.

 

The program experience is divided into the following:

 

Sunday residential Experience

 

Housing & Meal Accommodations

•Students will be housed in Laurel Village featuring two and four bedroom apartments with semi-private bathrooms. Each student will be assigned a private room in an apartment that is shared with same gender roommates.
• one lunch, one breakfast, and two dinner meals, plus evening snacks and refreshments are provided.

Each Laurel Village apartment is fully furnished and equipped with a kitchenette, living room, two to four private bedrooms and two full bathrooms. All kitchenettes have a full size refrigerator and a microwave. Each apartment is also equipped with free local and long distance phone service and individual climate control. Televisions and phones are not provided in the room.

IMPORTANT…..Underage possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages and/or illegal drugs is a violation of UTSA Student Code of Conduct, State, and Federal Laws.  Furthermore, Laurel Village is a dry community meaning that no alcohol, regardless of age, is allowed on property.  Any Orientation student(s) found with or under the influence of alcohol and/or illegal drugs are subject to Laurel Village and UTSA Student Judicial Processes and removal from Orientation housing.  Students may also be required to repeat their Roadrunner Roundup at their own expense.

If you elect to participate in the Downtown Residential Experience, you will be greeted at Laurel Village, located on the 1604 campus, by the Laurel Village staff and escorted to your housing assignment by the Orientation Leaders. After settling in, you will join the Orientation staff for an overview of the Downtown Residential Experience and a fun-filled evening of activities. Transportation will be provided for students participating in the Downtown Residential Experience.  Students will not be permitted to drive their personal vehicles to the Downtown Campus.
 

Monday Roadrunner Round-up required attendance

Today, you will take a campus tour; learn about university services, academic resources, and student life at UTSA. In addition, you will participate in a presentation conducted by faculty and administrators from your College. You will also receive a continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.   By the end of the day you will be on your way to becoming a
Roadrunner!

Monday Optional Residential Experience

If you are participating in the Downtown Residential Experience, you will spend the evening preparing for your academic advising appointment and enjoying additional social activities with the orientation staff at the 1604 campus. Dinner will be provided for overnight students.

 

Tuesday Roadrunner Round-up required attendance

Roadrunner Roundup Wrap-up

Wrap up your Roundup experience with academic advising, course registration, academic preview and paying tuition/fees. No meals will be provided on this day.  If you participated in the optional Downtown Residential Experience, don't forget to check out of Laurel Village.
