New Student CampsAdventure Trips

Roadrunner Adventure Trips are NOT Freshman Orientation

Roadrunner Adventure Trips are offered on a Thursday and Friday during the summer. Join UTSA’s Orientation and Family Programs team and Campus Rec’s Outdoor Pursuits team on the wild side for a 12-mile river kayak expedition and overnight camping experience.

For two-days and one-night students and trip leaders will kayak along the Guadalupe River and sleep under the Texas stars. No experience is required to participate—just a sense of adventure and a willingness to have fun.

This outing is designed to reinforce Roadrunner Roundup and provide a different dimension of orientation and preparation for new incoming students. In addition to facilitating the kayaking and camping itinerary, the upper-class trip leaders will also provide insight about being a successful UTSA student. Participants will develop a positive social network to support transition into college life.

Students are encouraged to be registered for the Roadrunner Roundup immediately prior to the Adventure trip they wish to attend but this is not a requirement.
