Family and Guests UTSA Family Orientation-Summer Orientation
Family members and guests who attend on-campus Summer Orientation will shadow their student as they complete the days' activities, take care of campus business and attend various breakout sessions. They will have the opportunity to learn information about academic policies and procedures, financial aid, advising and much more.
Space is limited, therefore, registration before the orientation date is required. When your student reserves his/her on-campus orientation through their ASAP account, they will have the option to add a family member or guest.
How to Reserve Your Spot
Reservations for all Family Orientation programs are required prior to the program date and can be made by your student through their ASAP account. Family can only attend an orientation program for the term that their student was admitted/accepted for. Space is limited and is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. All Family Orientation charges are added to your student's UTSA tuition and fees bill.

What to Expect
- Held at the Main Campus
- One Day Program – 7:45am-1:00pm (Student Orientation program time ends at 6:00 p.m.)
- Designed to introduce family members of new students to academic and social resources, faculty and staff.

Family Orientation Housing Accommodations (optional)
On-Campus Short Stay Housing at University Oaks – One Day Orientation Program
For students and guests that may require overnight accommodations during their orientation program, University Oaks offers short stay options. Unique apartment-style, 2-bedroom furnished unit, private bedroom with twin bed, semi-private bathroom, shared living room with couch, kitchenette with microwave & refrigerator are available to reserve.
Note: No kitchen ware, linens or television provided.
Depending on your group size, you may be assigned a suite to be shared with one or more same gendered roommates.

What if the Family Program is full?
If the Family Orientation program that you wanted to attend is full, you can keep yourself connected to UTSA by becoming a member of the Family Association. Stay connected and up-to-date on UTSA activities for your student all semester long.
