Parking spaces on campus, with the exception of Student General spaces, are denoted by a color coded system. Any unmarked space is open to all valid UTSA permit holders. Garage parking requires a garage permit or payment in one of the short-term spaces. Select from the following list of parking permits for more specific information on each one listed.

How to Buy a Permit on ASAP

First, login into your ASAP account at https://asap.utsa.edu/

Click on "Student Services/Financial Aid" or "Employee Services"

Click on "Parking and Transportation Services"

Check that you have a vehicle listed and that the information is correct, if not follow the instructions

Under the "Pemit" section, click on "Request a Permit"

Students will need to choose the semester for which they desire a permit, then select a permit from those listed

Review the UTSA Parking & Transportation Services Rules and Regulations

Check the acknowledgement box and click on "Select Permit"

Select a "Payment Option"

If "Pay In Person" is selected, proceed to any Fiscal Services Office to complete your transaction and obtain your permit

For all other payment options, permits are mailed to the address provided

All permits purchased online for the 2007-08 Academic year will be mailed to the address provided on or about August 1, 2007. You can expect to receive your permit within 3 business days.

UTHSCSA and UTSA are increasingly working on collaborative research projects and to meet the needs of parking needs for both campuses PTS has amended the parking reciprocity agreement. Beginning in the fall 2007 UTHSCSA permits bearing a special decal will be afforded the following parking on the UTSA campus:

UTSA Executive and Reserved spaces - None

UTSA F/S A spaces – UTHSCSA Zones I and II Permits

UTSA F/S B spaces - UTHSCSA Zones III and IV Permits

UTSA General spaces - UTHSCSA Zone V Permits

UTSA Garages - Pay going rate or have department validate

Faculty & Staff Pre-tax Deduction

The University of Texas at San Antonio offers the option of pre-tax parking for its employees. This means the amount of taxable income reported to IRS is reduced by the amount of your parking deductions. Consequently, your Social Security (OASI) and Federal Withholding Tax deductions are less, resulting in higher take-home pay. Electing the pre-tax option is the only way you can realize this tax savings. Many people declined the pre-tax option in the past because of the potential negative impact on Teacher Retirement or Optional Retirement benefits. Due to a change in state law, the pre-tax calculation no longer affects retirement contributions. Electing pre-tax parking will increase your monthly take-home pay!

1604 Campus Parking Information

Student General, Resident, and Remote permitted vehicles may park in Faculty/Staff B (yellow spaces) from 4:30 pm to 6 am, Monday through Friday and at ALL hours on weekends. Faculty/Staff B permitted vehicles may park in Faculty/Staff A (white spaces) parking spaces during the same times as indicated above. Faculty/Staff A permitted vehicles may NOT 'park up' to Reserved spaces at any time.

Disabled parking spaces on the UTSA campuses require both a State Disabled parking placard or license plate AND a UTSA parking permit. State issued disabled permits are available through the office of the County Tax Assessor Collector and are the only acceptable evidence of disability. Visitors may stop at the Visitor Booths to obtain a permit to park in the disabled spaces.

1604 North Campus Prime time parking is between 9 am and 2 pm, Monday through Thursday. Shuttle service between Lot 12 and the HSS/MB building is available between 7 am and 10 pm Monday through Thursday, and 7 am to 7 pm Friday.

1604 South Campus Prime time parking is between 9 am to 2 pm, Monday through Thursday. Shuttle service from University Oaks Phase III, Lot 10, Lot 11, and BSB/Lot 6 is available between 7 am and 10 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 7 am and 7 pm Friday.

Short-Term Paid Parking spaces are enforced 24 hours a day, year round. Any individual with or without a University parking permit may park in any of the short-term parking spaces. Short-term spaces are $1.00 per hour and the Pay Stations accept bills, coins, and credit cards.

Downtown Campus Parking Information

Students, Faculty and Staff who park in the UTSA Downtown Campus must meet the same parking permit requirements as indicated herein for the 1604 campus parking areas.

Student parking with UTSA Student General permits is available in the Durango Loop parking lot, I-35 Lots D-1 through D-5, Cattleman's Square parking lot, Monterrey parking lot, and DTC Garage (special permit required).

Faculty/Staff parking is available in Durango Loop parking lot, I-35 Lot D-1 and D-2, Cattleman's Square parking lot, and DTC Garage.

Student Garage permit holders may park on level B3 of DTC Garage and in any unmarked spaces in 1604 Garage.

Faculty/Staff A Garage and Reserved Garage permit holders may park on level B1 (Reserved) and B2 (Faculty/Staff A) of DTC Garage and in similarly marked spaces in 1604 Garage.

Lots D-1 through D-5 under I-35 (from Buena Vista/Dolorosa south to bridge abutment) are available exclusively for UTSA Faculty, Staff, and Student parking use. All five lots have Student General parking available and Faculty/Staff spaces are located in Lots D-1 and D-2.

Any individual with or without a university parking permit may park in any of the short-term paid parking spaces, provided there is time remaining on the pay station. Short-term spaces are $1.00 per hour and are located on level G (top level) of the parking garage. Pay Stations are located on level G (top level) of the parking garage, in the Frio Street building commons area, the Buena Vista Street building by the theater, and in the Durango building by the Rec Center. Short-term spaces can be paid from any of the four pay stations by entering the pay space number. Pay stations will accept bills, coins, and credit cards.

>>Monterrey Building (formerly BTC)

UTSA has honored the lease of several tenants of the Monterrey Building. These tenants obtain parking permits from UTSA. There are a number of Visitor spaces in this lot for visitors of the tenants. UTSA faculty, staff, or students who park in these spaces will be ticketed and/or towed.
