We wish T. Taylor Eighmy well as he moves forward with his ambitious plans for the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he will begin serving as the 48-year-old institution’s sixth president on Sept. 1.
“I believe that great cities need great universities. All the ingredients are in place for UTSA to leverage access and discovery to become the very best Hispanic-serving top tier research university,” Eighmy said in a prepared statement last month, after he was named to fill the post vacated by Ricardo Romo.
Eighmy merits the community’s support as he settles into his new job and moves forward with taking the city’s largest public university to the next level. The university’s successes and the economic prosperity of our community are intertwined.
