Vice President for Research, Economic Development and Knowledge Enterprise Search

Position Description

The University of Texas at San Antonio seeks a collaborative leader to serve as Vice President for Research, Economic Development and Knowledge Enterprise (VPREDKE). The VPREDKE serves as the University’s chief research officer, reporting directly to the President and working closely with the Provost and the Senior Vice President for Business Affairs. Responsibilities include leadership, guidance and management of all aspects of the University’s research operations, centers and institutes, commercialization and economic development services; leadership in developing and expanding UTSA’s research from individual projects to large scale, multi-disciplinary initiatives in research and graduate programs; representing UTSA throughout the state and nation with regard to research activities and programs; and, in line with UTSA’s mission, promoting and enhancing an ethnically and culturally diverse community that ensures a tolerant and stimulating educational environment.
