From employing and mentoring students to hosting career information sessions to supporting a variety of academic and campus life programs, USAA and The USAA Foundation, A Charitable Trust, have been among UTSA's important partners for more than two decades.
Founded in 1922, USAA serves more than five million members worldwide, primarily military personnel and their families. A member-owned Fortune 200 company, USAA has 21,000 employees in the United States and Europe, and owns or manages more than $79 billion in assets.
Headquartered in San Antonio, USAA and The USAA Foundation, A Charitable Trust, show outstanding corporate citizenship by providing ongoing support to many of the city's nonprofit organizations and institutions. USAA and The USAA Foundation, A Charitable Trust, have provided almost $4 million to various UTSA programs, including scholarships, a citywide mentoring program, President's Associates, the Institute of Texan Cultures and the Access College and Excel (ACE) Program. Serving about 200 students since its inception in 1999, the ACE Program has been an outstanding example of collaboration between UTSA and USAA and The USAA Foundation, A Charitable Trust.
Especially committed to helping students succeed, USAA and The USAA Foundation, A Charitable Trust, have provided scholarship assistance to academic programs throughout the university and have made it possible for many students to attend UTSA who otherwise would have been unable to pursue higher education. USAA is also a major partner in the UTSA-administered citywide mentoring program, San Antonio: Making Mentoring a Partnership (SA:MMAP). The program has positively affected more than 37,600 students in the community since its inception in 1998 and has involved almost 6,500 volunteers.
