Purchasing Class Information
Purchasing has phased out paper- form purchase requests and will accept only electronic requisitions (PB4)
All departments using the Small Order system (PBO) will be required to take the class and sign a new conflict of interest statement before they are authorized to use the system.

AM525 - Purchasing Rules & Regulations
This course is designed to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the rules and regulations governing purchasing activity at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Each participant will receive informative handouts that provide a guide to purchasing goods and services. This course will also help departmental buyers understand the law and UTSA policy as it relates to Historically Underutilized Business. The instructor will also demonstrate accessing appropriate information on the World Wide Web.
Learn basic purchasing procedures and how to electronically submit both small purchase order and purchase requests to the Purchasing Department. Detailed instructions will be provided for all types of purchases. The system will automatically encumber funds and transactions will take place immediately. This is a hands-on class using both the DEFINE system and the new web-based POINT PLUS system. For more information, contact Cindy Orth at ext. 4343
