Policies and Procedures
The polices and rules are laid out for your safety. These rules are to help prevent any injuries and create a fun and safe environment for all patrons. For the health, safety and enjoyment of all swimmers, please abide by the rules.

Pool Rules

  • Swimming/sunbathing is permitted only when a lifeguard is on duty.
  • Swimmers must wear a bathing suit. Cut-offs, gym shorts, sport bras, thongs, underwear, compression shorts are not allowed. A white or light-colored t-shirt may be worn over a swim suit.
  • Bathers are strongly recommended to shower before entering the water.
  • Any conduct determined by the Aquatics Staff to jeopardize the health and safety of pool users is prohibited.
  • The Aquatic Staff has full authority to ask participants to leave the pool area for not following polices outline for the area.
  • Persons having or reasonably suspected to have any considerable areas of exposed sub-epidermal tissue, cuts, or know or recognizable contagious or communicable diseases, cough, cold, open sore, blisters, bandaged wound, fever, inflammation of the eyes, nasal or ear discharges, shall not be allowed to enter the pool water.
  • No diving of flipping into the pool.
  • Running is not allowed.
  • Rough play, horse play, chicken fights and throwing/pushing people into the pool is not permitted. Do not hang on the lane lines or safety lines.
  • Spitting, blowing of the nose, spouting of water is strictly prohibited.
  • Enter and exit the pool from designated locations only.
  • No prolonging underwater swimming.
  • Do not hang on to the island walls.
  • No splashing of the Lifeguards.
  • Please refrain from talking to the Lifeguard Staff in the stand unless you have an emergency.
  • No one is allowed on the lifeguard stands except the Aquatics Staff.
  • The UTSA Lifeguards on duty are the only individuals allowed to wear any type of lifeguard apparel.
  • Chewing of gum or consuming food or beverage in the pool is not allowed.
  • Glass containers are not allowed in any of the Campus Recreation facilities.
  • Inappropriate language is not permitted.
  • Inner tubes are allowed only in the lazy river unless specified by the aquatics staff.
  • Water basketballs, volleyballs and water polo balls are only allowed in designated areas. They are not to be used as floatation devices or thrown at patrons. Sand volleyballs and outdoor basketballs are not permitted in the pool.
  • Campus Recreation apparel polices apply when entering the Recreation Center prior to and after using the swimming pool area. You must put on a shirts, shorts and shoes before entering the facility. Please dry off completely before enter the Recreation Center.

Spa Rules

  • Bathers are strongly recommened to shower before entering the water.
  • Spitting, blowing of the nose, spouting of water in the spas is strictly prohibited.
  • Maximum use 15 minutes
  • Bathing load: 22 persons.
  • Maximum water temperature is 104° F.
  • Pregnant women, patrons with health problems or taking prescription drugs that cause drowsiness should not use the spa without first consulting a doctor.
  • Oils, body lotions, and minerals or materials not associated with chemicals used for water chemistry balance, algae control, and disinfection of the water are prohibited in the spa.
  • Only feet first entry by way of the steps is allowed. NO DIVING
  • Do not climb the rocks.
