Services
UTSA Campus Rec offers a variety of services to our members. For customer services assisstance please visit the Membership Services Desk. Please click the link below for more information on each service.
1. Open Rec Equipment Check-Out

  • Patrons must show their UTSA/Campus Rec Card to check out/in equipment. 
  • Patrons are responsible for equipment they check out.  An individual who fails to return checked out equipment or who returns it damaged must pay the replacement cost of the lost, stolen or damaged equipment.
  • If a patron plans to transfer equipment to another member, both patrons must be present to record the switch.
  • Payment for lost, stolen or damaged equipment may be made at the Membership Services Desk.  The users account will be suspended until restitution is made. After 30 days an academic hold will be placed on the users account through fiscal services.


2. University Sponsored Program Passes

  • Departments on campus hosting a program such as a conference, workshop, or clinic, may request that participants have the ability to use Campus Recreation facilities via sponsorship.
  • The sponsoring department head must submit a written request of sponsorship on UTSA letterhead listing the name of each participant to Rob Ramon, Assistant Director of Operations, at least 7 business days prior to the event. The list of sponsored participants will be kept at our Membership Services Desk.
  • Sponsored participants must present valid government-issued identification and conference, workshop, or clinic name badge (if applicable) at the time of the purchase.
  • The sponsoring department will take full responsibility for the conduct of their guests and any destruction of equipment or facilities caused by guests. This includes social interactions and financial liabilities.
  • Fees:
    • 1 Day - $5.00
    • 7 Days - $15.00
    • 14 Days - $25.00
    • 21 Days - $35.00
    • 30 Days - $45.00


    3. Guest Pass

  • Fee: $5.00 per guest per day.
  • Individuals (18 years and older) will be admitted to the Rec Center when accompanied by a student, faculty, staff, or alumni with a valid UTSACard with Rec Center privileges.
  • The limit for the number of guests per sponsor is two per day. 
  • Guests must present a government-issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID, military ID, or passport) prior to entering upon payment of guest fees.
  • A Guest Pass form must be completed at the time the guest fee is collected.  The original copy is included with the daily financial reports.
  • If a guest and the same sponsoring member return later that day, they must re-present photo ID and their paid guest pass receipt for the same day. 
  • Solicitation to gain facility access is prohibited and is grounds for refusal of entry, removal from a facility and/or surrender of paid guest fees.
  • The sponsor will take full responsibility for the conduct of their guests and any destruction of equipment or facilities caused by guests.  This includes social interactions and financial liabilities.
  • Guests must remain with their sponsor and depart when their sponsor departs.
  • Sponsors must check out equipment and towels for guests.
  • Guest may not participant in Intramural Sport activities.
  • Guest Passes are non-transferable and non-refundable.
  • Guest Passes are valid for one day only. 
4. Spectator Pass (Intramural and Club Sports Only)

  • Free
  • Individuals (18 years and older) will be admitted to the Rec Center when accompanied by a UTSA student, faculty or staff who is participating in an Intramural Sports game or Club Sports match.
  • The sponsor must sign for the individual and is responsible for the actions of the individuals while attending the Intramural or Club Sport game.
5. Internet Access

  • Campus Rec offers Members the opportunity to access the World Wide Web.
  • Methods of Connection:
    • Computer Bar located in Atrium
    • Wired Access Ports for laptops
    • Air Rowdy
6. Racquetball Court Reservations

  • Reservations may be made one day in advance by calling (210)458-7575 or in person at the Membership Services Desk.
  • Patrons reserving a court must give their name, UTSA/Campus Rec ID number and the time they wish to use a court.
  • Reservations are for one hour and are made on the hour.
  • Participants may only have one reservation per day.
  • All participants must check-in at the Membership Services Desk.
  • Patrons must check-in within 15 minutes after the hour to retrain their reservation.  Courts not claimed will become open courts.
7. Locker Rentals

  • Prices
    • Half-Locker: $24
    • Full-Locker: $40

  • Locker Room Lockers
    • Current Campus Rec Members are eligible to rent lockers by semester only.
    • Lockers can be rented from Membership Services beginning on the first day of classes for each semester on a first-come, first-serve basis.
    • Members may share their lockers with other members.  However, only the individual that rented the locker will have access to locker numbers, combinations or contents after clean-out.  Locker combinations will not be given out over the phone.
    • Locker not renewed or cleared out by the locker term expiration date will have the contents of the locker removed by Campus Rec Staff.  Contents are kept for 45 days after clean-out and then donated to charity.
  • Coin Operated Lockers (Main Campus Rec Center)
    • Coin operated lockers available in the main corridor.
    • Personal locks are not allowed on coin operated lockers.  Personal locks will be removed by Campus Rec Staff.
    • Belongings may not be left overnight in coin-operated lockers.  Belongings will be removed by Campus Rec Staff at closing.
  • Day-Use Lockers (Main Campus Rec Center)
    • Day-use lockers are available on the second floor and by the racquetball courts.
    • Individuals must supply their own lock.
    • Belongings may not be left overnight.  Personal locks and belongings will be removed by Campus Rec Staff at closing.
8. Towel Services

  • Campus Rec provides complementary towel service to members.  Present your UTSA/Campus Rec ID card when checking out a towel.  When returning a towel, please present your UTSA or Campus Rec ID card again to have the item removed from you account.
  • A fee of $1.00 will be assessed for non-return of Small Towels.
  • A fee of $5.00 will be assessed for non-return of Large Towels.
9. Guided Tours

  • Guided tours are available upon request.
  • Current Campus Rec Members are allowed to showcase Campus Rec facilities by giving tours to family and friends at least 18 years of age.
  • Any group with a member younger than 18 years of age is required to be lead by a Campus Rec Staff Member.
10. Campus Rec Shop

  • Campus Rec offers a variety of sports equipment and accessories.
11. Intern/Researcher
  • Interns/Researchers directly conducting work for UTSA have the ability to use Campus Recreation facilities via sponsorship.
  • The sponsoring department head must submit a written request of sponsorship on UTSA letterhead listing the name of the Intern/Researcher to Rob Ramon, Assistant Director of Operations, at least 7 business days prior to the arrival of the Intern/Researcher.
  • Sponsored Interns/Researchers must present valid government-issued identification at the time of the purchase.
  • The sponsoring department will take full responsibility for the conduct of their guests and any destruction of equipment or facilities caused by guests. This includes social interactions and financial liabilities.
