How to sign-up
Come by or call the Outdoor Resource Center, 458-6720, to sign up for all workshops and orientations. Boat/Stove/Bike orientations are a mandatory prerequisite to borrow this gear. It is encourgaed that you partake in all three orientations at once. Once this is done, you will never have to do it again, and you will be able to check out this gear whenever you want!Belay Certification is a mandatory prerequisite for all Outdoor Pursuits climbing trips.
One roll session is required for most whitewater kayking trips.
Spring 2012 Schedule
What: Group Climbs
When: Fridays: 7-10 pm, Saturdays: 1-4 pm

Description: Private group climbs are available at the UTSA Rockwall. Minimum of 10 participants with valid Rec Memberships. Email the Rockwall Coordinator , Matt Baran at bxw520@my.utsa.edu, to make an appointment.

Description: Learn how to top-rope belay using the approved "BUS" method. Once you pass the belay test you can begin belaying other patrons and friends at the Rockwall! Belay certification is a mandatory prerequisite for all Outdoor Pursuits climbing trips.

Description: Learn the basics of how to build solid climbing anchors through demonstrations and practice. Even experienced climbers are likely to learn a few new techniques to simplify and improve their protection systems.

Description: Lead climbing is a great way to take your climbing to the next level and test your skills and judgment. Prior climbing experience (at our wall) is required. Sign up at the Rockwall.

Description: Use our tools and workspace to clean and tune your bike. Basic tools and how-to books available. Staff on-hand to offer advice and help. Drop in anytime between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.

Description: Learn to roll like a pro, this class will build your confidence in the water and teach you the basic whitewater roll. Attending 2 roll sessions earns eligibility for whitewater trip. Stop by the ORC or call 458-6720 to reserve a boat.

Description: Boat orientations are a mandatory prerequisite to check out canoes and kayaks. This one hour session will float your boat with local waterway laws, water-based hazards, and instruction on boat tie-down to vehicles.
