Information for Faculty and Staff

Academic Publications

Academic Publications maintains the university’s course inventory and publishes the undergraduate and graduate catalogs and the Information Bulletin.

Academic Publications also maintains the online Class Schedule and produces the university’s Academic Calendar as well as the semester-specific academic calendars and registration schedules.

Information Bulletin Production

The UTSA Information Bulletin is published each spring (electronic format only) for the following academic year (Fall, Spring, and Summer). The Bulletin is a static document for the duration of the year and all revisions must be made during the regular annual update process.

Catalog Production

The Undergraduate Catalog and Graduate Catalog are currently revised and published on a biennial basis, in alternating years.

Beginning in Fall 2014, the Undergraduate Catalog will be published on an annual basis, however, the Graduate Catalog will remain on a biennial schedule. With the electronic publication of the 2014-2015 Undergraduate Catalog and the 2015-2017 Graduate Catalog, the university will no longer print catalogs for public distribution. A very limited number of copies may be printed in-house for advisors and departments that require paper copies to advise students.

Revisions in academic programs and courses in the Undergraduate Catalog should anticipate program and course needs over the academic year following publication (September through the following August). Revisions in academic programs and courses in the Graduate Catalog should anticipate program and course needs over the two academic years following publication (year 1 Fall, Spring, Summer and year 2 Fall, Spring, Summer).

Departments should refer to the UTSA Curriculum Guide for information regarding processes and procedures for development of new programs and courses at UTSA:
