Mission Statement
The Office of Sponsored Programs, a unit in the Office of The Vice President for Research at The University of Texas at San Antonio, supports and advises the entire academic community in securing external support for sponsored programs and collaborations. We review, negotiate, approve, and provide administrative oversight related to proposals and establishment of awards on behalf of The University of Texas at San Antonio in accordance with all applicable policies, and regulations.

New NSF Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide
The new
National Science Foundation (NSF) Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide, effective January 1st 2009, is comprised of documents relating to the Foundation's proposal and award process. It has been designed for use by both NSF customer community and NSF staff and consists of two parts: "1) Part I is comprised of NSF's proposal preparation and submission guidelines 2) Part II is comprised of the documents used to guide, manage, and monitor the award and administration of grants and cooperative agreements made by the Foundation".

Enhancing NIH Peer Review Activity Implementation Timeline
The NIH Peer Review Oversight Committee and three subgroups consisting of NIH program, review, grants management and evaluation staff have developed an initial implementation timeline for the Enhancing Peer Review activity. New Grant Proposal Submission System
Beginning July 1st,2008, all UTSA grant proposals will be entered and routed through
Cayuse424, a new
web-based system purchased by the Office of the Vice President for Research. The new system is easier to use than the previous PureEdge or Adobe applications.
Cayuse424 supports all federal applications for National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation grants submitted through grants.gov. Applicatio
ns for other federal or non-federal sponsored grants also will be routed through Cayuse424.

Statement of Work (SOW)
The purpose of a SOW is to detail the work requirements for projects and programs that have deliverables and/or services performed. The SOW covers the work requirements and, in conjunction with applicable performance/design requirements contained in specifications, is used for contractual agreements. Always review sponsor guidelines for required format and/or content requirements.
