Experiential Learning

LEAD UTSA Experiential Learning encompasses the formal classroom education on leadership development, on-campus leadership conferences, and off-campus leadership opportunities. These programs are either coordinated by the Office of Student Activities or funds are made available for students to participate in the programs. Students who register for Foundations in Leadership, our for credit course are given an opportunity to learn the theoretical foundations of leadership development, while also exploring their own leadership style. This class is designed for students who wish to not only expand their knowledge base, but also intend on being involved in a leadership role in any of the sponsored student organizations on campus.

The opportunity for UTSA students to be involved in on-campus and off-campus leadership conferences is an important part of our experiential learning component. Through programs like Leader Summit, Texas Conference for Women, Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference, Adelante Leadership Institute, and Leadershape our students are given opportunities to network with other students from around the state and country, while also having access to speakers and presenters they may not have the chance to hear on our campus.

For more information on experiential learning opportunities, please contact Marlon Anderson at 210-458-4160.
