JOSEPH J. GDOVIN JR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number of awards and amounts vary

  • Must be enrolled full time (minimum 12 hours)
  • Must be a sophomore with a declared major in biology or other related life sciences
  • Must demonstrate recognizable merit and have a minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA
  • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA
    • Application requirements: Joseph J. Gdovin Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship application and two letters of recommendation
    • Deadline: April 1

COLLENBACK SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number of awards and amounts vary

  • Must be an undergraduate or graduate student with an expressed interest in ecology
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
    • Application requirements: Collenback Endowed Scholarship
    • Deadline: Varies; contact the EES departmental office, SB 4.03.30

 

MINORITY ACCESS TO RESEARCH CAREERS (MARC) PROGRAM
Award: 15 junior/senior awards of $10,956; tuition and fees and $1200 travel allowance

  • Must be an undergraduate majoring in the field of chemistry or biology
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be committed to attending graduate school and pursuing a career in biomedical research
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Preference given to students with a disadvantaged background
    • Application requirements: Two letters of recommendation and statement describing career goals; contact MBRS/MARC Office for more information
    • Deadline: Applications accepted year-round

MBRS/RISE MINORITY BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH SUPPORT/RESEARCH IN SCIENCE ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM
Award: $850 travel allowance; $11,200 for juniors and seniors; awards of $13,500 plus tuition and fees for graduate students; number of awards varies

  • Must be majoring in the field of chemistry or biology
  • Must possess a sincere interest in pursuing a biomedical research career
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 for undergraduates or 3.0 for graduate students
