All scholarships awarded by the College of Business require the recipient to

  • Be actively pursuing a degree in the College of Business and in good academic standing with the university
  • Be enrolled as a pre-business or declared business major
  • Meet any other requirements as stated in the scholarship criteria below.

The College of Business has both named and unnamed scholarships with various eligibility requirements for students majoring in business. The number of awards and dollar amounts vary. Applicants will be considered for all awards for which they meet the eligibility criteria.

Awards are made in the fall and spring semesters for the academic year. Award amounts are generally divided equally between the two semesters, and students must meet grade and enrollment hour requirements to receive the remainder of the award.

All applicants must complete a College of Business Scholarship Application and provide required narratives (see individual scholarship listings); and resumés summarizing leadership, work experience and community involvement. An on-line application can be completed beginning November 15 with a deadline of February 15.

The following is a list of College of Business scholarships available currently. These scholarships can change at any time and many are dependent upon renewed funding.

ACCOUNTING VARIOUS DONORS SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number of awards and amounts vary

  • Must be declared major in accounting in the College of Business at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and a minimum 3.0 in major coursework including at least one upper-division accounting course
  • Preference will be given to applicants who completed at least one semester of study at UTSA
  • Must be enrolled for 12 or more credit hours in the fall and spring as an undergraduate or 9 or more credit hours in the fall and spring as a graduate

JUDY AND JAMES ADAMS ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number and amount of awards vary

  • Must be pursing a degree in the College of Business at the undergraduate level
  • Must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • Preference will be given to students demonstrating the greatest financial need

ALAMO ASIAN AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP
Award: $2,000 per year; number of awards varies

  • Must be pursuing a degree in the College of Business at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Undergraduates must have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Recipient will agree to attend an official award ceremony presented by the donor at the time and place agreed to by the donor and the recipient
  • Preference will be given to applicants who express interest in Asian culture
  • Preference will given to applicants who submit a letter of recommendation from a business member of the AAACC
  • Must be enrolled for 12 or more credit hours in the fall and spring as an undergraduate or 9 or more credit hours in the fall and spring as a graduate
  • Must submit a paper of no less than 300 words resulting from an interview with a business member of the Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce (Contact Janet Rothe at (210) 458-4773 or janet.rothe@utsa.edu in the UTSA College of Business for instructions.)

ALAMO CITY BUILDING OWNERS AND MANAGERS ASSOCIATION INC./CHARLOTTE RAINFORD MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number and amount of awards vary

  • Must be a declared undergraduate construction management or real estate finance and development major in the College of Business
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be enrolled for 12 or more credit hours in the fall and spring

LYNN WHIPPLE ANGROVE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number of awards and amounts vary

  • Must be a declared accounting major at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours in accounting major courses
  • Must be enrolled full time (minimum 12 credit hours as an undergraduate or at least 9 credit hours as a graduate
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA in College of Business coursework

EMILY ZACHRY ANSLEY ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number and amount of awards vary; rotated annually between the College of Business and the College of Sciences

  • Must be pursuing a degree in the College of Business at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Must be a Texas resident and citizen or permanent resident of the United States
  • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by Student Financial Aid
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA

JESSE BAKER ENDOWED CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number and amount of awards vary

  • Must be a declared undergraduate or graduate major in construction management or real estate finance and development in the College of Business
  • Must have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours
  • Must have a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA
  • Must be enrolled for 12 or more credit hours in the fall and spring as an undergraduate or 9 or more credit hours in the fall and spring as a graduate

BOEING SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number and amount of awards vary

  • Must be a pursing a degree in the College of Business at the undergraduate level
  • Must have a minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA
  • Should have strong interest in The Boeing Company and will be encouraged to apply for Boeing summer internship
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis for other than training purposes (student/temporary visas do not qualify)
  • Must be enrolled for at least 12 or more semester credit hours in the fall and spring

JANE BONHAM ENDOWED MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Award: One award of $1,500 a year

  • Must be a declared accounting major at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Must be enrolled for a minimum of 9 credit hours in accounting major courses
  • Must be enrolled full time (minimum 12 credit hours as an undergraduate or 9 credit hours as a graduate)
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA in College of Business coursework

DR. RUSSELL F. BRINER MEMORIAL ENDOWED ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number and amount of awards vary

  • Must be declared undergraduate accounting major or graduate enrolled in the Master of Accountancy degree program at the graduate level
  • Must be enrolled for a minimum of 9 semester credit hours in major coursework
  • Must be enrolled full time (minimum 12 credit hours as an undergraduate or at least 9 credit hours as a graduate
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA in College of Business courses

ERNEST AND AIMEE BROMLEY ANNUAL GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
Award: One award of $5,000 dependent on availability of funds

  • Must be a graduate student admitted to any graduate business major
  • Preference given to students admitted on a probationary status
  • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by Student Financial Aid
  • Must be enrolled for 9 or more credit hours in the fall and spring
  • Preference will be given to students who are bilingual in English and Spanish

BARTLETT COCKE EXECUTIVE-IN-RESIDENCE ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

  • Must be a declared major in the College of Business at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Undergraduates must have completed a minimum of 30 semester credit hours
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA

COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADVISORY COUNCIL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

W. G. CONWAY ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number and amount of awards vary

  • Must be a declared major in the College of Business at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate participation and leadership in community, university and/or extracurricular involvement
  • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by Student Financial Aid
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be enrolled for 12 or more credit hours in the fall and spring as an undergraduate or 9 or more credit hours in the fall and spring as a graduate

E. LOU CURRY ENDOWED TAXATION SCHOLARSHIP
Award: One award of $1,500 a year

  • Must be a declared accounting major at the junior level or above in the College of Business
  • Must have completed a minimum of 60 semester credit hours with a minimum of 9 credit hours in major coursework
  • Must be enrolled full time for a minimum 12 credit hours in the fall and spring as an undergraduate or at least 9 credit hours in the fall and spring as a graduate
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA in College of Business coursework
  • Preference will be given to applicants who express a desire to pursue a career in taxation as their future profession

NEIL DENTON ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number and amount of awards vary

  • Must be pursuing a degree in the College of Business at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Preference given to graduate students
  • Undergraduates must have completed at least 30 semester credit hours
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be enrolled for 12 or more credit hours in the fall and spring as an undergraduate or 9 or more credit hours in the fall and spring as a graduate
  • Recipient will agree to attend an official award ceremony presented by the donor a the time and place agreed to by the donor and recipient.

ERNEST & YOUNG ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Five awards of $1,000 the first award year and $3,000 the second award year

  • Must be declared an accounting major in their fourth year of study ]first year of the Master of Accountancy (MACY) Program]
  • Must apply during the third year of study for awarding in the fourth year of study
  • Must have and maintain a 3.4 minimum cumulative GPA throughout the award period, with no grade below "B" in accounting courses
  • Must demonstrate leadership experience
  • Must be enrolled minimum of 9 credit hours
  • Preference will be given to students from populations that are demonstrably underrepresented in the accounting profession

FARM CREDIT BANK OF TEXAS ANNUAL BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP

  • Must be a declared undergraduate finance, accounting, management or marketing major in the College of Business
  • Undergraduates must have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by Student Financial Aid
  • Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien
  • Preference will be given to students from traditionally underrepresented populations in approved majors
  • Must be enrolled for 12 or more credit hours in the fall and spring

WARNER F. FASSNIDGE ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP IN REAL ESTATE FINANCE AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Must be a declared undergraduate real estate finance and development major in the College of Business
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 or more credit hours in the fall and spring

Award: $500 a year; number of awards vary

  • Must be a pursuing a degree in sport, event, and tourism management or in marketing with a sport, event and tourism concentration
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by Student Financial Aid
  • Among equally qualified applicants, preference will be given to Hispanic or African-American students
  • Preference will be given to students demonstrating participation and leadership in community, university, and/or extracurricular activities
  • Must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 or more semester credit hours in the fall and spring

FROST BANK ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number and amount of awards vary

  • Must be pursuing a degree in the College of Business at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Must have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours
  • Must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • Must be enrolled for 12 or more credit hours in the fall and spring as an undergraduate or 9 or more credit hours in the fall and spring as a graduate

T.C. FROST ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FOR CITIZENSHIP
Award: Number and amount of awards vary

  • Must be a declared major in the College of Business at the undergraduate level
  • Must have completed a minimum of 80 semester credit hours
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must demonstrate the ideals of citizenship
  • Must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 or more credit hours in the fall and spring

GOVERNOR'S CLUB SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT

  • Must be a declared major in the College of Business at the undergraduate level
  • Must have completed a minimum of 60 semester credit hours
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 or more credit hours in the fall and spring

H-E-B ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Award: One award; amount varies

  • Must be a declared major in the College of Business at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Undergraduates must have completed at least 60 semester credit hours
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must have related work experience in retailing or supervising or campus leadership through present or past officer (chair) status in a professional club or organization
  • Narrative on career goals and intentions must express sincere interest in retailing/food area
  • Must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 or more semester credit hours in the fall and spring as an undergraduate or 9 or more semester credit hours in the fall and spring as a graduate

DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS VARIOUS DONORS SCHOLARSHIP

  • Must be a declared information systems major in the College of Business
  • Undergraduates must have completed a minimum of 60 semester credit hours

  • Must demonstrate a significant commitment to community service

INTERNATIONAL FACILITY MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION-SAN ANTONIO CHAPTER ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number of awards and amounts vary

  • Must be a declared major in real estate financial and development program at the undergraduate
  • Strong preference will be given to applicants minoring in facility and property management or applicants who have completed or ar taking courses FM 4303 and/or FM 4313 or similar/successor courses
  • Preference will be given to those demonstrating financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are residents of San Antonio

  • Must be declared major in the College of Business at the undergraduate level

  • Must be enrolled for 12 or more semester credit hours in the fall

NORTH SAN ANTONIO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE LEAD SA CHARITABLE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
Award: $2500 in spring semester only; number of awards vary and are dependent on available funding

  • Must be an undergraduate student attending final semester in spring who has applied for graduation by the appropriate deadline
  • Must have completed high school education in Bexar County, Texas
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrate recognizable merit, leadership skills and interest in community activities
  • Financial need is a consideration
  • Recipient will be expected to acknowledge the scholarship by participating in a future North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce program or event
  • Must be enrolled for 12 or more semester credit hours in the fall and spring
    • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT: A separate scholarship application must be submitted along with a 500 word essay on "Why I am Interested in a Career in Business"

JOHN O'GORMAN MEMORIAL AUSTIN TAX EXECUTIVES INSTITUTE SCHOLARSHIP
Award: One award of $1,500 a year

  • Must be a declared an accounting major at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Among equally qualified candidates, preference will be given to applicants who express a desire to pursue a career in taxation
  • Must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 or more semester credit hours in the fall and spring as an undergraduate or a minimum of 9 or more semester credit hours in the fall and spring as a graduate

SHELLY PALMER MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

  • Must be a declared undergraduate marketing major in the College of Business
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA

  • Preference will be given to students who can demonstrate leadership activities related to the Real Estate Finance and Development Program and those students whose career goals are consistent with the advancement of San Antonio's business community
  • Must attach a letter of recommendation from either a Real Estate Finance and Development faculty member or preferably from someone in the real estate industry who can speak knowledgeably of the applicant's career goals and/or real estate industry experience.
  • Must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 or more semester credit hours in the fall and spring as an undergraduate or 9 or more semester credit hours in the fall and spring as a graduate
  • Recipient will agree to attend an official award ceremony presented by the donor at the time and place agreed to by the donor and the recipient

SAN ANTONIO HOTEL & LODGING ASSOCIATION ENDOWED TOURISM MANAGEMENT SCHOLARSHIP

  • Must be pursuing a degree in sport, event and tourism management or in marketing with a sport, event and tourism concentration in the College of Business
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are currently working or have worked in the accommodations industry
  • Must be enrolled for 9 or more semester credit hours in the fall and spring

SOUTHWEST ACTUARIAL FORUM SCHOLARSHIP
Award: One award of $1,500 a year

  • Must be a declared undergraduate actuarial science major
  • In the event there are no qualified undergraduate applicants, scholarship can be awarded to a full-time graduate student (enrolled in 9 semester credit hours) who meets the criteria
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be enrolled for 12 or more credit hours in the fall and spring
