THE USAA UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
Award: Number and amount of awards to be determined

  • Must be in good standing with UTSA; must not have been placed on academic suspension, probation or dismissal during the last 24 months
  • Must be enrolled as an undergraduate student, incoming or current UTSA student with a declared major in Public Administration
  • Must be enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 hrs.) during the scholarship semesters awarded
  • Must be a registered Texas resident
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a scale of 4.0)
  • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by Student Financial Aid
    • Application Requirements: Scholarship application, plus a brief personal statement on your goals pursuing the BPA degree, your career plans following graduation, and your current financial need and the scholarship's role in the attainment of these goals. This information should be submitted directly to the Department of Public Administration.

THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number and amount of awards to be determined

  • This scholarship has been established with funds drawn from the unrestricted proceeds of the annual President's Scholarship and Awards Dinner. This scholarship is not renewable; however, if additional funds become available, recipients are encouraged to re-apply. Scholarship money is disbursed equally in the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Must be enrolled at UTSA as a full-time (9 credit hours) graduate student.
  • Must be classified as a degree-seeking student.
  • Must be a declared major in the Department of Public Administration's Master of of Public Administration (MPA) program.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a scale of 4.0)
    • Application Requirements: Scholarship application, plus a two-page essay explaining your professional goals in pursing the MPA, your career goals after graduation and your current financial need. This information should be submitted directly to the Department of Public Administration.

DOMINION ROTARY CLUB PAST PRESIDENT'S FUND
Award: One award, amount to be determined

  • Funds distributed from the endowment shall be used to provide scholarships to be applied toward the cost of education at UTSA, as determined by the FAFSA. The number and amount of the awards shall be based on the amount of funds distributed annually from the endowment.
  • Must be enrolled as a graduate student in the College of Public Policy and actively pursuing a master's or Ph.D. degree within the Department of Public Administration at UTSA or its successor
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a scale of 4.0)
  • Recipients shall be known as the Dominion Rotary Scholar and will be invited to a luncheon meeting to describe their studies
    • Application Requirements: The application for the Dominion Rotary Club Past President's Fund consists of a two page application.
    • Deadline: Feb. 15

RUBÉN MUNGUÍA ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Number and amount awards vary

  • Must have been admitted to the graduate program in public administration in the College of Public Policy.
  • Must enroll each semester in the academic year the scholarship is awarded for a minimum of 6 credit hours leading to their master's degree.
  • Students entering, continuing or returning to their UTSA master's degree program will be eligible for the scholarship; this scholarship is renewable for up to two years after the initial award.
  • Selection of recipients will be made by a scholarship committee officially recognized by the Department of Public Administration.
    • Application requirements: Scholarship application, plus a one-page essay on their personal goals in pursuing the MPA, their career plans after graduation and their current financial need.

GENERATIONS FEDERAL CREDIT UNION TUITION SCHOLARSHIP
Award: One award, amount to be determined

  • Must be a graduate student actively pursuing a degree in the Department of Public Administration at the UTSA
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a scale of 4.0).
  • Award can only be used for tuition expenses.
  • Funds are distributed in fall and spring semester.
  • Recipients will be selected by a committee that is officially recognized by the UTSA and appointed by the dean of the College of Public Policy
    • Application requirement: Scholarship application, plus a one-page essay describing your professional goals and how the MPA degree and the Generations Federal Credit Union Scholarship will help in attaining those goals.

PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION GRADUATE STUDENT (GIT) SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Varies

  • Must be enrolled as a degree seeking student in UTSA's MPA program (minimum of 6 credit hours each long semester).
  • Must be a declared major in the Department of Public Administration's Master of Public Administration (MPA) program.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 (on a scale of 4.0).
    • Application requirements: Scholarship application, plus a 500 word essay explaining why you should be awarded this scholarship, future contributions to the field of public administration or nonprofit management, and what you consider as significant events or experiences in your commitment to the pursuit of your education.
